“PINKY BEECROFT: MAINSTREAM FREAK”
is the new one-person show coming soon to Melbourne Fringe Festival.
An up-close & personal performance event in which Beecroft rants, raves, cusses and croons his way through the outer reaches of his own mind. Part autobiography, part cry for help, the show examines Beecroft’s freakish inability to connect with the mainstream. Featuring anecdotes, parables, non-sequiturs and possibly some songs.
Melbourne Fringe Festival October 6 to October 13

– at the Vanguard we’re thinking we might play “Pretty Black” in its entirety. Certainly we’ll be playing as many songs from that fine album as we can. It will be a very very pretty night in a pretty venue. Come along, please, we’re going to make this one special. Sit down, have a meal, have a glass of wine, feel good about the world, while we play sad songs and make ourselves cry. Yum!

Some things the press has said about it:
“It’s the delicate, piano-driven Fabulous Driving that really shows Beecroft at his best. His smoky, restrained vocal is nothing short of superb; a perfect performance caught on tape. The song has hooks galore and builds to a more than satisfying chorus. If the opening track is merely a pleasant surprise, this is arguably the best Australian song released in 2006. Honestly, it’s sublime. MG-who?”
- dB Magazine
“The most surprising thing at the end of it all is the fact that despite initial tendencies towards the past, this project is clearly fresh and a step in a whole new direction. Who are mgf again?”
- FasterLouder
Live shows taking place all through 2010.
